Thanks for visiting our website!

In 1995, the Linville family purchased land in Indiana and began taking the steps needed to become a Certified Organic farm with their primary crops being alfalfa/grass hay.  They named their farm Prestonwood Organic Farms LLC.

In 2001, the operation expanded into the Certified Organic, 100% Grass fed, Black Angus cattle business.

The cattle herd was started with Registered Black Angus breeding stock.  The cattle were immediately transitioned into the Certified Organic program and have always been 100% Grass fed.  As the herd grew, only Registered Black Angus Bulls were added to the herd.

So what are Certified Organic Grass fed Cattle?

Our cattle are Certified Organic by the USDA's National Organic Program.  The program requires that the cattle 1) have a diet of only certified organic feed, including plenty of pasture and 2) are given no antibiotics or hormones.  The cattle feed must be grown without any GMOs, herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers.  Additional animal welfare requirements include open access to shelter, minimization of pain and stress, and limitations on confinement.  Additional land requirements promote erosion control and responsible manure management.  The requirements for Certified Organic cattle result in a comprehensive, integrated system.

Our cattle are also 100% Grass fed meaning the cattle are raised only on pasture and hay, with no grains.  Kelp and salt are provided to help strengthen their immune systems and aid in their good health.

Our mission has always been to provide the best Certified Organic and 100% Grass fed Black Angus cattle possible.

We look forward to providing excellent quality cattle to you.
